When filling in forms, it is quite easy to forget to add some of the information required. With patent applications, this missing
information could be vital.
The new online filing (CMS) application ensures that you cannot submit your application if important information is missing.
To do this, it uses a validation system consisting of three coloured icons: 
The icons appear in input fields where information is missing and have the following meaning:

 = Mandatory information is missing or incorrect. You must supply or amend this information before you can submit the application.

 = The missing information is mandatory but may be supplied later.

 = This icon provides helpful hints concerning your filing.
