1.3.1 Validation

When filling in forms, it is quite easy to forget to add some of the information required. With patent applications, this missing
information could be vital.

Online Filing ensures that you cannot submit your application if important information is missing. To do this, it uses a validation system
consisting of three coloured icons:

The icons appear in input fields where information is missing and have the following meaning:
  • red = the missing information is mandatory
  • yellow = the missing information is mandatory but may be supplied later
  • blue/grey = the missing information is recommended but not mandatory

A red triangle in an input field means that the missing information must be added.

To find out more we can have a closer look at some validation messages.
