1. What does the acronym WebRegMT stand for?

WebRegMT stands for Web Register Monitoring Tool.

2. What is the difference between smart card and password access?

Both methods offer secure access to WebRegMT. However, smart card access is recommended for those who wish to use other EPO online services as well, including Online Filing, Mailbox and Online Fee Payment.

3. Why is it recommended to log off instead of just closing the browser window?

By logging off, you prevent anyone else from accessing your WebRegMT account and finding out which files you are monitoring.

4. Who can use WebRegMT?

WebRegMT can be used by anyone who registers for a username/password or smart card.

5. What are the browser requirements for WebRegMT?

To be able to use all the features in WebRegMT without restriction, you must have either Internet Explorer 6.0 upwards, Mozilla Firefox 1.0 upwards, or Netscape 7.1 upwards.

6. Why does the system log out after a certain period of time?

The system logs out automatically after 30 minutes of idle time for security reasons. If this happens, all you have to do is simply log in again.

7. Are the files allocated to me as a representative automatically listed on the "Monitored Files" screen?

No, you have to enter the files you want to monitor yourself.

8. Can I change my password?

Yes, you can change the password you received from the EPO on enrolment

simply by clicking the Global Preferences button once you have logged in. Enter your new password twice and confirm.

9. Are the e-mails I receive via WebRegMT encrypted?

No, they are not.

10. Why do I receive an error message when I try to enrol for password access?

It may be that you are using diacritics, symbols or punctuation marks in the mandatory fields of the registration form. Special characters, such as ö, ä, ø, &, £, etc. as well as commas and full stops will generate an error message ("Please fill in the missing information") and should therefore be avoided.
