When you open Register Plus, the Simple Search page is displayed initially. Simple Search allows you to find matches for one term only. While you are in the Simple Search page, the Advanced Search button is displayed. Click it to switch to the Advanced Search page.

The Advanced Search allows you to find matches for a combination of terms.
To revert to Simple Search, click the button:

The search facility is available throughout Register Plus, except for the Document Viewer.
Simple search
Options include application number, publication number, date of filing, date of publication, priority number, priority date, applicant, inventor, representative, opponent and IPC classification code.
Examples of correct number formats are displayed on the screen.
Results matching your search term are displayed, up to a maximum of 20 items per page. To navigate to additional pages, click the numbered buttons in the lower part of the page.
To view a particular item in the search results list, click the link in the Application No. column and then select the data view you require.
To return to the search results list, click the Search Results button.

Advanced search

In addition to the Search category list, the Advanced Search page contains two additional sets of this list, both labelled AND, with corresponding data entry fields. You may use these to search on a maximum of three categories with corresponding search term(s). Only items matching all the terms you entered will be displayed.
You may use AND, OR and NOT to qualify your search terms.
Note When switching from advanced to simple search, the search term is lost, so the entry for the simple search will be empty. However, any search results found will continue to be displayed until a new search is started.
