General

Batch Verification is a tool that enables you to verify selected files from a single directory and its subdirectories.

Batch Verification supports the following formats:

  1. ST.25
  2. XML (XML)
  3. compressed *.zip
(each archive should contain just one file, i.e. one ST.25 or one XML file)

To invoke it, select Tools->Batch Verification from the main menu.
A screen appears in which you can select the file formats you want to include in the verification.

Selection of file types for verification

On the same screen, select the directory and then the individual files to be included in the verification. You should see only the file formats you have chosen for the batch verification.

Selection of files to be verified

Clicking Finish starts the verification process. BiSSAP displays a window with a progress bar. Clicking the Run in the background button makes it possible to perform other tasks in the program.

BiSSAP tries to fix corrupted files during verification (note: this is an in-memory process, so no changes are written to the files), but this is not always possible. Sometimes files are unreadable. In this case, BiSSAP displays an error message.

During verification, BiSSAP generates a text-report file, which contains a summary of the operation and all the errors detected. The report file is in the same directory as the verified files. The name of the report includes the date the verification was performed.

BiSSAP opens the report, if you click yes in the following confirmation dialog.

Open Report Confirmation Dialog

The report is opened in a special report viewer comprising three panes. In the first you will see a list of the verified files. You select one of the files from the list to see a list of errors and warnings for that file in the middle pane. You can see the original file in the third pane.

Automatic verification

This is actually batch verification performed on all the files in a specific directory. You should set this directory in the BiSSAP Preferences; otherwise this operation cannot be performed.

To start automatic verification, do one of the following:

  • press Alt-V
  • select Tools -> Automatic Verification from the menu

If the verification directory is not set in the preferences, BiSSAP displays a message.
