General information
You cannot edit the sequence number directly or change its position in the sequence listing.
When you create a sequence, its sequence number is assigned by the software. A new sequence is usually placed after the last sequence in the sequence listing. You can also create a sequence before or after a specific position. For example, you can create a sequence that will go on to become the very first sequence. BiSSAP will assign the number “1” to this sequence, and the numbers of the rest of the sequences will be changed accordingly.
In addition, you can rearrange the sequences and thus change their sequence numbers by using the Ordering Element function. To invoke this function, please navigate to the Sequences list in the Project Browser. Right- click it, then choose Order Sequences from the menu (or press Shift-Control-O).

BiSSAP will display a dialog.

In the left panel you will see the sequences in the current order. By using the four buttons >>, >|,<<,|<, you can move the sequences to the right panel, arranging them in order you wish.
- >> - moves the selected sequence to the right panel
- >| - moves all the sequences to the right panel
- << - moves the selected sequence to the left panel
- |< - moves all the sequences to the left panel
You can select only original sequences, as generated sequences cannot be transfered individually. If a sequence is marked as a generated protein, it will be transferred together with its parent sequence.
You must put all the sequences in the desired order. If there are any sequences in the left panel, you will get an error message when you click OK.

In view of this limitation, this tool is of limited use for very large sequence listings.
