BiSSAP has a built-in database, where all the information about the current project is saved. BiSSAP allows you to dump the content of that database (backup) and to restore it to either the same or to a different BiSSAP installation.
Note: If the BiSSAP versions are different, there could be differences in the database structure that could cause the restore operation to fail.
How to backup
-
Select Tools -> Backup from the main menu.

-
BiSSAP opens the backup dialog.

-
Choose the directory.

- If you want a compressed backup, check the box Compressed.

BiSSAP saves the data in the selected directory
- with an .sql extension, if Compressed has not been set
- with a .zip extension, if Compressed has been set.
-
BiSSAP displays a message informing you that the database has been backed up.

How to restore
-
Select Tools -> Restore from the main menu.

-
BiSSAP opens the restore dialog.

-
Choose the file you wish to have restored.
BiSSAP supports two formats: compressed (.zip) and uncompressed (*.sql).

-
Note that all the data in BiSSAP will be erased. BiSSAP asks you to confirm that this is indeed
your intention.

-
BiSSAP displays a message informing you that the restore operation was successful.

-
If the operation is unsuccessful (corrupted file, etc.), BiSSAP displays an error message.
