Batch tool
BiSSAP provides a batch tool for converting between certain sequence listing standards. It reads the files from the disk, and then saves the converted copies on the disk. It does not create a project.
-
Select Tools -> Convert between standards.

-
BiSSAP opens a dialog. All the fields in this dialog are required.

- Choose the directory. BiSSAP will automatically detect any file in that directory that is in the chosen sequence listing format.
-
You can scan all subdirectories recursively. Check Read subdirectories to include all
the subdirectories in the scan for the sequence listing files.

-
Select the conversion direction.

-
Click Next. BiSSAP scans the directories and displays the second page of the dialog,
which contains a list of all the files that can be converted.

- Select the files you wish to convert by clicking the check boxes in front of their names. You can also select and deselect all the files by clicking the appropriate buttons. All the files are selected by default.
-
Click Finish. BiSSAP starts the conversion.

-
When BiSSAP completes the conversion, it displays a confirmation message.
The converted files are saved in the same directory as the original ones.

-
If any of the files cannot be converted, BiSSAP displays an error message.

Conversion by project loading and exporting
You can convert a file by loading a sequence listing as a new project, and then exporting it into another format. While this is not a conversion tool as such and the process is laborious, it does allow you to convert a file when it is not possible to do so using the batch conversion tool.
